Sad Day for CNN

Of all the CNN reporters, correspondants, and anchors, Aaron Brown was my favorite and I am sorry to see him go.

He anchored Newsnight, an entertaining look at the daily news. I really enjoyed the end of his broadcast when he would read headlines from other papers. He really found some good ones.

His coverage of 9/11 was outstanding. He was steady and reported the facts. I found his reporting the best of anyone on that traumatic day. In a time of crisis, I want my anchors to report the facts and keep me informed, just like Mr. Brown.

Mr. Brown was the victim of new management and an underapprecitation of his many talents. I actually found a few of his comments very funny. New management wanted focus on one story, not many. Mr. Brown cut to the heart of an issue quickly and could immediately move on to the next story.

Frankly, I would rather watch Mr. Brown over any of the other CNN prime time shows.

CNN will regret letting him go. Mr. Brown will go on to bigger and better networks (Fox and MSNBC - are you reading this). Oh, and to Fox and MSNBC - one more reason to watch your entertaining and informative prime time line ups.
