Increasing the US Energy Resources
The US Senate finally approved drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). It is way past time.
The US continues to increase oil consumption, yet we do not allow additional exploration of US reserves and capacity. That simply does not make sense.
In the Senate, 48 members voted not to allow drilling in ANWR. I suggest a survey - what they and their significant other drive and their income. Perhaps we are faced with numerous limosine liberals that think they always know best and may do whatever they please (Senators Kerry, Kennedy and Clinton come immediately to mind).
I am not trying to bash the wealthy, only those that vote one way and do something different. I bet a majority of the 48 senators that voted against drilling in ANWR drive big vehicles that consume fuel and pollute the air. I can hear it now "I need my big vehicle and I can afford the price of gasoline today. However, you should not drive a large vehicle so we will try to raise the price of gasoline to discourage you from driving. Then we will blame it on the oil companies. We all know the absolute greed of those multimillionaire oil executives." Yes, I can hear it from those limo liberals.
