Two Patriots

Welcome. Here's a blog of great thinkers, great conservatives, and great Americans. All have written extensively in various environments and have been brought together here to assemble more intellect in one place than a thousand libs will experience in their combined lifetimes. Closed Senate Session

I believe the Senate democratic leadership has finally done it. Just when I thought political stunts could not be topped, Sen. Reid did it. He called for a closed session of the Senate.

Now what did he really achieve? Nothing. He made the democrats look childish and petty. With the bird flu, spending bills, Katrina response review, UN investigation on oil for arms, ect, don't we have more important issues to consider?

I have great respect for the rules and traditions for the Senate, but not for the inconsiderate use to stop legislation.

Years ago Senator William Proxmire of WI introduced the "fleecing of the taxpayer award." This award for given to the dumbest spending program.

Senator Proxmire left the Senate in 1989. I suggest we change the name to the "fleecing the citizen's will award" and name it after Senator Harry Reid. He is the first person awarded the "Reid award for fleecing the citizen's will." I am sure we will see future award winners very soon.
